We are honoured to host the 17th Scandinavian Shuffle in Umeå, the capital of northern Sweden.
The entire event will offer dancing and activities from Thursday 4th of February to Monday 8th of February, with in total five nights of dancing to live bands and DJs. The venues for all dances are within walking distance around downtown central Umeå, Sweden.
Snow and fantastic attendees are guaranteed and there is a good chance of getting a glimpse of the northern lights. There will be opportunities for both indoor and outdoor daytime activities, tasting local delicacies, and learning some northern words and habits.

Balboa enthusiasts around the Scandinavia, Nordics, and the world joining together for the 17th time. Unforgettable memories and connections await in Umeå 4-8 February.

What to expect…
3 main parties with live band and DJ music,
taking place at the same central venue with generous space for dancing
1 pre-party and 1 after-party with live band and DJ music,
taking place at Ordenshuset - our cozy local dance location with the perfect amount of space for both dancing and mingling
Daytime activities,
sauna, museums, architecture, skiing, beer tasting, dog sledding, coffee…
Pre- and after parties

MUSIC
Our nights will be filled with live bands and DJ music - with us, Balboa enthusiasts in mind. We have world-renowned musicians flying in to play for us, in addition to several local amazing bands and a handful of DJs sharing their favourite tunes on stage.
Please welcome The Jonathan Stout - Enric Peidro Sextet as our main band - playing on Friday & Saturday night! This unique combination of famous musicians will make the feet glowing with the best possible balboa beats on the planet!
On Thursday night, we have the local string quintet All Smiles playing for us, with music inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.
Sunday night, the talented big band Renhornen from Umeå will play the shuffle beats needed for balboa dancers.
Monday night, DJs will take it away, but you never know - spontaneous musical jam surprises might appear!
Daytime activities
Yes, we have sauna! And other daytime activities to explore and enjoy the Scandinavian lifestyle.
You can sauna and dip the toes into the frozen Umeå river, wonder architecture in Umeå, prepare for a show on a dance class, thrift shop in many various 2nd hand and vintage shops, and visit local cafes and roasteries. Book your activities upon registration.
