Travel with 3-Day Tickets
Are you looking forward to your arrival in Gothenburg? We have compiled some useful tips to help you travel comfortably and efficiently with the city's public transport services.
Västtrafik To-Go
Gothenburg has a regional transport service called Västtrafik, and their website (www.vasttrafik.se) provides information on ticket costs and timetables.
To get the best routes and buy tickets, we recommend using the Västtrafik To-Go application. This app has several advantages, including:
live transportation data for route planning
the ability to buy tickets with card payments
access to live location and timetable information for trams and buses.
You can Install this app from Google Play or the Apple Store.
3-day Tickets
The cost for a Single Ticket is SEK 36, and it is valid for 90 minutes. However, if you plan to use public transport often while in Gothenburg, you can save money by purchasing a 3-day ticket. This ticket costs SEK 230 and is valid for 72 hours.
So a 3-day ticket is an economical choice if you plan to travel by public transport more than six times during the three-day period. This makes it an ideal option for covering travel costs during the Scandinavian Shuffle 2024 period.
To buy a 3-day ticket, follow these steps:
Open the app and tap "Buy Ticket (Köp biljett)" on the bottom menu
Choose "Day Ticket (Dygnsbiljett)"
Select “Zon A”
Select "3 days (3 dygn)"
Tap "To checkout (Till betalning)" and complete payment. The ticket will be activated immediately.
Tip:
Gothenburg belongs to Zone A, which will suffice for all Scandinavian Shuffle 2024 activities. However, if you plan to travel to nearby cities, you may consider other options, such as Zone AB (Alingsås, Kungsbacka, etc.) or Zone ABC (all areas in Västra Götaland region and Kungsbacka municipality).
